Ecometrica helps businesses meet their sustainability challenges, reduce costs, and increase overall performance. The company needed help developing a logo and visual identity that matched their skills and expertise.

The three-ringed symbol represents Ecometrica’s three key areas of influence — land use, greenhouse gas emissions, and policy and research. As with all symbolism in branding, a simplicity in appearance improves recognition rates, while with Ecometrica it also reflects on the company’s quiet efficiency.

Many sustainability brands are identified by palettes of green. It’s the obvious choice. And while obvious can be good, it rarely differentiates. Applying reds and blues within the identity gives Ecometrica some added differentiation and memorability, and there’s relevance when these colours are combined with land satellite imagery.

The company has since grown from the original Edinburgh base, now with additional offices in London, Boston, and Montreal, and a client list that includes Greenpeace, Royal Mail, WWF, Pfizer, BP, and The Scottish Government.

The three-ringed symbol represents Ecometrica’s three key areas of influence — land use, greenhouse gas emissions, and policy and research. Keeping the design simple in appearance improves recognition rates at the same time as reflecting the company’s quiet efficiency.

Other project elements included stationery, posters, and the collation of a distinctive land satellite brand gallery to keep the identity fresh across various marketing pieces.
